Wednesday, Hump Day, Middle Day, Wacky wacky Wednesday. Today was quite a on the go day. Besides the regular craziness we did some costume shopping. Now my Hannah loves to trick or treat but usually is completly freaked out by the party stores because of all the spooky stuff. Today was a different story. She chose to be a cat this year (never was a big princess type girlie) but also was playing with every gross, bloody, scary, gorey item in the store and laughing. She even suggested that maybe she should go as a cool devil next year. I guess you never know when those moments are going to hit you as a parent when you say, oh crap, I've left a stage and missed it somehow! Now mind you many of these have already happened for me, but today was definitely a day for that for me. Plus she didn't want several of the costumes, not because she didn't like them, but the "peer" factor and "Mom, I just can't wear that" with that knowing look in her eyes.
I should ground her for doing this two days before I turn 39 and enter my last year in the thirties but somehow I just don't think she will get it. However my own mother must just snicker away inside when I describe these times for myself to her. Of course, being the wonderful mother she is, never a word does she say except I love you, still.
